Designing an engrossingly interactive Multimedia experience is as fun and satisfying for me as breathing life into a digital character through the art of animation. Both animation and interaction are major aspects of the following two websites.
As true old-school gamers, Kevin Ronald and I decided to pay homage to the
golden Commodore 64 through our MM2A03 project. Using a C64 emulator
and tons of screenshotting, Photoshopping, and Flash programming, we were
able to bring the star characters of popular C64 games into the modern world
of Flash. Aside from the satisfaction of figuring out Flash and seeing
things gradually fall into place, I greatly enjoyed revisiting the old C64
games that were such a sweet part of my childhood.
My favourite parts of the project are the introductory screen (shown below)
and the Dino Eggs scene. Click
on the various characters and see what they do! Be sure to turn off
the C64 when you're done by pressing the power button on the interface monitor.

Orphaned aliens need friends too. Help the lovable (and somewhat annoying)
Flint build himself a robot friend!
"Flint Builds a Friend" was a group project for Andrew Mactavish's
MM3A03 course. My partners were Fiona Fu (who created the beautiful
graphics), Georrgia Gamez, and Maha Al-Adhami. Together, we designed
a children's game through the intensive use of ActionScript. As you
can see, we didn't get it all right, nor did we finish it on time. But boy,
did we learn a lot.
